What polite words do people talk?

            Making conversation is very important in the society and community. Using polite words is also very important too. This can make the relationship good. There are some polite words to say when you ask somebody or answer someone’s questions. For example, Dara wants to buy a cup of coffee to drink, then he would say “I would like a cup of
coffee.” This is a polite phrase to talk especially when you go shopping. There are more polite words and phrases. Study the conversation below and try to take notes the way people ask and answer to the questions in the polite way:

In the shop:

Shopkeeper  :           Hello boy, would you like a bowl of soup?

Buyer             :           Yes, please.

Shopkeeper  :           Would you like a can of soda?

Buyer             :           Yes, please.

Shopkeeper  :           Would you like a cup of milk?

Buyer             :           No, thanks. I’d like a glass of juice.

Shopkeeper  :           Would you like a piece of cake?

Buyer             :           No, thanks. I’d like a piece of pie.

Note:  We say “would you like…?” And we also say “What would you like…?”

Example: Would you like a cup of tea? à What would you like?
